Happy Belated International Card Day!

So sorry for the delay. I've been super busy the past couple of weeks. I've had so many things happen at once. I finally relaxed in my pajamas this past weekend and cleaned my craft space up. It still needs a lot of work though. It's currently located in the basement which is currently unfinished. So there's no dry wall and I have cement flooring which is extremely cold! I'll post a picture later tonight when I get home.

What did you guys do for international card making day? I didn't even know it was international card day. And it do happen that my friend, Marie, and her mom decided to make cards that same day! It was Marie's idea to get together and create 4 cards each and show each other how we made it. All together each of us made 24 cards! Here's a picture

Something amazing just happened!

I finally extended my copic marker collection!!! I went from having a little over 50 to almost 300! I couldn't resist. There was a sweet lady who was selling them because she didn't really use them anymore. So she was selling them all for $300! It was totally worth the investment. Of course I have a lot of duplicates, I'm going to wrap them and give it was a gift to my boyfriend's mom. She wants to get into them but could fork the money to buy them.

Here's my first project after getting them. I still have to finish it. This card is for my anniversary with my boyfriend

Current Project: Update

Hi everyone!

After completeing my trial run of my desktop calendars, I decided that it was way too big for a desk and it wasn't standing up by it's self. I think I need to change the size and figure out a way to keep it up. My trial calendar is a 8.5x11" cardstock folding in half. I will figure something out and I'll update you guys. I also decided to personalize each calendar some how. I was thinking of changing their birthday month so it sticks out. I'm planning at the moment and If you saw my sheet of paper, you'd think I'm crazy. There's scribbles all over the place. I should try and buy a sketch book or something to have all my planning and sketches in one place. I'll try and take pictures of the process - hopefully! I always forget to take pictures.

Toodles, for now!

Excited for my trip to the States!

I'm getting very excited for my trip to the States in August. Whenever I go, I usually try to buy all my card making items there 'cause it's super duper cheaper than in Canada!! It's ridiculous. The first time I went down to the States with my boyfriend and his family, we went into Michaels and I was looking at brads. A big package cost only 5 bucks. When I went home, the Michaels here was selling it for $25! I need to start making my list of items to keep an eye out for, including my Tonic 12" Guillotine paper cutter!

As promised, pictures and updates

Current Project: 2013 Calendars. I stumbled upon this website that shows how to make desktop calendars. This is still in the works and I will be coming back to finish it soon. I used Stampin' Up A Tree for All Seasons to create this calendar and I coloured them in with copics and used glossy accents and stickles to give it some dimension. I'm also using A Flower for All Seasons too.

Completed Project: Anniversary Gift.

I made this for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. I found this idea on Pinterest. I went to the dollar store and bought a picture frame and removed the glass and matte. I used whatever red card stock I had available and began hand cutting all my hearts. Oh boy, I spent a whole lot of time working on this baby. I believe I began working on it around 7pm, took a break at 10ish and then I worked all night. I remember telling my friends I was working on it for more than 8 hours. I didn't go to bed until 6am. If you want to do this project, make sure you have enough patience for it. It does take awhile, but the out come is worth it.
This is what I had completed after working on it for 3 hours.

Update...

Hey everyone! Sorry for not keeping up with this blog! I'll try my best to update with a card or project at least once a week! I've been super busy the past 6 months. I spent the first half of the year helping my sister plan her wedding. She got hitched in Australia with her new hubby mid July and came back for a fabulous reception. I also planned a surprise birthday party for her in February and a surprise Bridal Shower in May too. Boy, it was sure stressful. Especially the day of the reception. If anything, I learned that I will definitely hire a wedding coordinator/planner for the day of my wedding. I don't want to be staying up to 3am setting up the hall and waking up at 5am to head back to the hall to do the last minute touches.

I'll be back tonight with some pictures of cards I remembered to take a picture of as well as a project I completed back in November.

Stay tuned!
