Just a quick post

Hi everyone! It's been a long day. Just thought I'd stop by and post a card I made a while back for my Dad's birthday.

Current Project: Update

Hi everyone!

After completeing my trial run of my desktop calendars, I decided that it was way too big for a desk and it wasn't standing up by it's self. I think I need to change the size and figure out a way to keep it up. My trial calendar is a 8.5x11" cardstock folding in half. I will figure something out and I'll update you guys. I also decided to personalize each calendar some how. I was thinking of changing their birthday month so it sticks out. I'm planning at the moment and If you saw my sheet of paper, you'd think I'm crazy. There's scribbles all over the place. I should try and buy a sketch book or something to have all my planning and sketches in one place. I'll try and take pictures of the process - hopefully! I always forget to take pictures.

Toodles, for now!

Excited for my trip to the States!

I'm getting very excited for my trip to the States in August. Whenever I go, I usually try to buy all my card making items there 'cause it's super duper cheaper than in Canada!! It's ridiculous. The first time I went down to the States with my boyfriend and his family, we went into Michaels and I was looking at brads. A big package cost only 5 bucks. When I went home, the Michaels here was selling it for $25! I need to start making my list of items to keep an eye out for, including my Tonic 12" Guillotine paper cutter!

As promised, pictures and updates

Current Project: 2013 Calendars. I stumbled upon this website that shows how to make desktop calendars. This is still in the works and I will be coming back to finish it soon. I used Stampin' Up A Tree for All Seasons to create this calendar and I coloured them in with copics and used glossy accents and stickles to give it some dimension. I'm also using A Flower for All Seasons too.

Completed Project: Anniversary Gift.

I made this for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. I found this idea on Pinterest. I went to the dollar store and bought a picture frame and removed the glass and matte. I used whatever red card stock I had available and began hand cutting all my hearts. Oh boy, I spent a whole lot of time working on this baby. I believe I began working on it around 7pm, took a break at 10ish and then I worked all night. I remember telling my friends I was working on it for more than 8 hours. I didn't go to bed until 6am. If you want to do this project, make sure you have enough patience for it. It does take awhile, but the out come is worth it.
This is what I had completed after working on it for 3 hours.

Update...

Hey everyone! Sorry for not keeping up with this blog! I'll try my best to update with a card or project at least once a week! I've been super busy the past 6 months. I spent the first half of the year helping my sister plan her wedding. She got hitched in Australia with her new hubby mid July and came back for a fabulous reception. I also planned a surprise birthday party for her in February and a surprise Bridal Shower in May too. Boy, it was sure stressful. Especially the day of the reception. If anything, I learned that I will definitely hire a wedding coordinator/planner for the day of my wedding. I don't want to be staying up to 3am setting up the hall and waking up at 5am to head back to the hall to do the last minute touches.

I'll be back tonight with some pictures of cards I remembered to take a picture of as well as a project I completed back in November.

Stay tuned!
