It was a quick one for sure. I used another one of my new Close to my Heart stamp sets with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink. If you've never heard of these inks, you have to try them. They're amazing and very pigmented. The colours are so vibrant too. I'm amazed everytime I use it. My favourite colour at the moment is the "Dark Peony" - I fall in love every single time I use it. Keep any eye out on Scrapbook Steals, I bought all of mine on there.<br />

This is what I came up with. There's a lot of coral on it but I think it works. I used my new Close to my Heart stamp set to make it. I also used pearl ex to give the card a little bit of shine. You can see a little bit of it on the stamped doilies.<div>

I'm so blessed to get the chance to go to Maui with my boyfriend and his family. His sister, Marie, planned everything and got us a crazy great deal too! We head there for the last week of August for 10 days. I'm super excited. Of course, I said thanks by giving them a handmade card :)<br />

I've been super busy the past couple of weeks. I've had so many things happen at once. I finally relaxed in my pajamas this past weekend and cleaned my craft space up. It still needs a lot of work though. It's currently located in the basement which is currently unfinished. So there's no dry wall and I have cement flooring which is extremely cold! I'll post a picture later tonight when I get home. <br />
<br />
What did you guys do for international card making day? I didn't even know it was international card day. And it do happen that my friend, Marie, and her mom decided to make cards that same day! It was Marie's idea to get together and create 4 cards each and show each other how we made it. All together each of us made 24 cards! Here's a picture <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM4WGmrhalVYj4C8xZUrlPEKvG9q9dnfUHm8QyCniALCzhvbMfF2MBpKbb-c7dAn-iDvV98VWHBgGnBc1KzVxSM_ni86-VO2TK0S1MQyJJFIHxNWCPrwvVboWsenGNZueTnfLiO0fY5dO1/s640/blogger-image--674292853.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM4WGmrhalVYj4C8xZUrlPEKvG9q9dnfUHm8QyCniALCzhvbMfF2MBpKbb-c7dAn-iDvV98VWHBgGnBc1KzVxSM_ni86-VO2TK0S1MQyJJFIHxNWCPrwvVboWsenGNZueTnfLiO0fY5dO1/s640/blogger-image--674292853.jpg" /></a></div>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05368010575737202087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320942220814757827.post-58328912481917734232012-09-14T05:22:00.001-07:002012-09-14T05:22:30.481-07:00Something amazing just happened!I finally extended my copic marker collection!!! I went from having a little over 50 to almost 300! I couldn't resist. There was a sweet lady who was selling them because she didn't really use them anymore. So she was selling them all for $300! It was totally worth the investment. Of course I have a lot of duplicates, I'm going to wrap them and give it was a gift to my boyfriend's mom. She wants to get into them but could fork the money to buy them. <br />
<br />
Here's my first project after getting them. I still have to finish it. This card is for my anniversary with my boyfriend <div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5cQTi1bl5TZogrGF3spsDGDkJ74tXU-3XDBSJC8soHlAHQVUb-LN0Fr4pcHquud6Dnb0DlI-WlocBJATOZrE0jLtobOD_Km6k521IQN2FaQ7IY21mVTlNnBBipDS2BPDzlhjYcWTxerhl/s640/blogger-image--993787847.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5cQTi1bl5TZogrGF3spsDGDkJ74tXU-3XDBSJC8soHlAHQVUb-LN0Fr4pcHquud6Dnb0DlI-WlocBJATOZrE0jLtobOD_Km6k521IQN2FaQ7IY21mVTlNnBBipDS2BPDzlhjYcWTxerhl/s640/blogger-image--993787847.jpg" /></a></div>Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05368010575737202087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320942220814757827.post-75663744516249259412012-07-22T22:00:00.002-07:002012-07-22T22:00:26.354-07:00Just a quick postHi everyone! <br />
After completeing my trial run of my desktop calendars, I decided that it was way too big for a desk and it wasn't standing up by it's self. I think I need to change the size and figure out a way to keep it up. My trial calendar is a 8.5x11" cardstock folding in half. I will figure something out and I'll update you guys. I also decided to personalize each calendar some how. I was thinking of changing their birthday month so it sticks out. I'm planning at the moment and If you saw my sheet of paper, you'd think I'm crazy. There's scribbles all over the place. I should try and buy a sketch book or something to have all my planning and sketches in one place. I'll try and take pictures of the process - hopefully! I always forget to take pictures. <br />
<br />
Toodles, for now!Maryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05368010575737202087noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3320942220814757827.post-74876958381673608822012-07-19T07:02:00.001-07:002012-07-19T07:02:45.017-07:00Excited for my trip to the States!I'm getting very excited for my trip to the States in August. Whenever I go, I usually try to buy all my card making items there 'cause it's super duper cheaper than in Canada!! It's ridiculous. The first time I went down to the States with my boyfriend and his family, we went into Michaels and I was looking at brads. A big package cost only 5 bucks. When I went home, the Michaels here was selling it for $25! I need to start making my list of items to keep an eye out for, including my Tonic 12" Guillotine paper cutter!<br />

I stumbled upon this website that shows how to make desktop calendars. This is still in the works and I will be coming back to finish it soon. I used Stampin' Up A Tree for All Seasons to create this calendar and I coloured them in with copics and used glossy accents and stickles to give it some dimension. I'm also using A Flower for All Seasons too.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I made this for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. I found this idea on Pinterest. I went to the dollar store and bought a picture frame and removed the glass and matte. I used whatever red card stock I had available and began hand cutting all my hearts. Oh boy, I spent a whole lot of time working on this baby. I believe I began working on it around 7pm, took a break at 10ish and then I worked all night. I remember telling my friends I was working on it for more than 8 hours. I didn't go to bed until 6am. If you want to do this project, make sure you have enough patience for it. It does take awhile, but the out come is worth it. <br />

Sorry for not keeping up with this blog! I'll try my best to update with a card or project at least once a week! I've been super busy the past 6 months. I spent the first half of the year helping my sister plan her wedding. She got hitched in Australia with her new hubby mid July and came back for a fabulous reception. I also planned a surprise birthday party for her in February and a surprise Bridal Shower in May too. Boy, it was sure stressful. Especially the day of the reception. If anything, I learned that I will definitely hire a wedding coordinator/planner for the day of my wedding. I don't want to be staying up to 3am setting up the hall and waking up at 5am to head back to the hall to do the last minute touches. <br />
<br />
I'll be back tonight with some pictures of cards I remembered to take a picture of as well as a project I completed back in November. <br />
<br />
Stay tuned! <br />

I've been such a busy bee since I moved back in June. Now my sister just got engaged and I'll soon be focusing on helping her make wedding invitation cards and such. Anyways, here is a card I made recently.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6031/6262541949_4186634b69.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6031/6262541949_4186634b69.jpg" width="237" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">This card was made for my boyfriend's niece. She's so adorable. She's been taking ballet so I thought this little ballerina stamp suited her. I coloured the ballerina with copic markers and I used glossy accents for her crown, tutu, and I also added dots at the end of the swirls on the background. I stamped the balloon and coloured it with copic again. And to finish off the balloon I sprayed perfect pearl mist. I used thickers for her name. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6154/6263066680_5c569ba024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6154/6263066680_5c569ba024.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">You can see the glossy accents better here.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

So this is my first ever post. I should probably introduce myself. I am a 19 year old who was introduced to scrapbooking and card making last year through my boyfriend's mom and sister. Ever since then, I've been making cards. I haven't created any scrapbooks yet, but when I have time I will get at it. I am an amateur at this so please be patient.<br />
<br />
Here are some cards I made in the past year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5270/5579057920_fa74aefde0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5270/5579057920_fa74aefde0.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's a card I made after a trip to the States with my boyfriend and his family. Just a card saying thanks for inviting me along to the annual trip they take. Unfortunately, I won't be tagging along this year because of work. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5106/5579057876_35151ec8d0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5106/5579057876_35151ec8d0.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A mini Valentine's Day card this year. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5055/5578471975_eeba427819.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5055/5578471975_eeba427819.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Birthday card for my boyfriend's birthday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sorry for the bad quality photos. It was taken on my old phone. I am now an owner of the iphone.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5309/5579057820_ce67050271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5309/5579057820_ce67050271.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I was really proud of this card. I made it for my Mom on her birthday. You should've seen me making this card. It was back when I didn't have an actual space to make any cards. I would be grabbing things all over the place and I'd be working on the floor. I was a mess. The final results made up for the torture I endured in making it. You can't tell from the photo, but the candles are actually popping out. My mom was amazed. It made me happy.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Very simple and quickly done!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for stopping by,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Love,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
