I'm getting very excited for my trip to the States in August. Whenever I go, I usually try to buy all my card making items there 'cause it's super duper cheaper than in Canada!! It's ridiculous. The first time I went down to the States with my boyfriend and his family, we went into Michaels and I was looking at brads. A big package cost only 5 bucks. When I went home, the Michaels here was selling it for $25! I need to start making my list of items to keep an eye out for, including my Tonic 12" Guillotine paper cutter!

As promised, pictures and updates
Current Project: 2013 Calendars. I stumbled upon this website that shows how to make desktop calendars. This is still in the works and I will be coming back to finish it soon. I used Stampin' Up A Tree for All Seasons to create this calendar and I coloured them in with copics and used glossy accents and stickles to give it some dimension. I'm also using A Flower for All Seasons too.
Completed Project: Anniversary Gift.
I made this for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. I found this idea on Pinterest. I went to the dollar store and bought a picture frame and removed the glass and matte. I used whatever red card stock I had available and began hand cutting all my hearts. Oh boy, I spent a whole lot of time working on this baby. I believe I began working on it around 7pm, took a break at 10ish and then I worked all night. I remember telling my friends I was working on it for more than 8 hours. I didn't go to bed until 6am. If you want to do this project, make sure you have enough patience for it. It does take awhile, but the out come is worth it.

This is what I had completed after working on it for 3 hours.

Update...
Hey everyone! Sorry for not keeping up with this blog! I'll try my best to update with a card or project at least once a week! I've been super busy the past 6 months. I spent the first half of the year helping my sister plan her wedding. She got hitched in Australia with her new hubby mid July and came back for a fabulous reception. I also planned a surprise birthday party for her in February and a surprise Bridal Shower in May too. Boy, it was sure stressful. Especially the day of the reception. If anything, I learned that I will definitely hire a wedding coordinator/planner for the day of my wedding. I don't want to be staying up to 3am setting up the hall and waking up at 5am to head back to the hall to do the last minute touches.
I'll be back tonight with some pictures of cards I remembered to take a picture of as well as a project I completed back in November.
Stay tuned!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Hello Everyone! It's almost Christmas time and I don't know about you, but I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I've been sick in bed the past couple days so I took this advantage and started on my Mini Christmas Cards.

Where did the time go?
I can't believe it's been 8 months since I posted a blog! I've been such a busy bee since I moved back in June. Now my sister just got engaged and I'll soon be focusing on helping her make wedding invitation cards and such. Anyways, here is a card I made recently.
This card was made for my boyfriend's niece. She's so adorable. She's been taking ballet so I thought this little ballerina stamp suited her. I coloured the ballerina with copic markers and I used glossy accents for her crown, tutu, and I also added dots at the end of the swirls on the background. I stamped the balloon and coloured it with copic again. And to finish off the balloon I sprayed perfect pearl mist. I used thickers for her name.
You can see the glossy accents better here.

My first post!
Hi everyone! So this is my first ever post. I should probably introduce myself. I am a 19 year old who was introduced to scrapbooking and card making last year through my boyfriend's mom and sister. Ever since then, I've been making cards. I haven't created any scrapbooks yet, but when I have time I will get at it. I am an amateur at this so please be patient.
Here are some cards I made in the past year.
Here are some cards I made in the past year.
Here's a card I made after a trip to the States with my boyfriend and his family. Just a card saying thanks for inviting me along to the annual trip they take. Unfortunately, I won't be tagging along this year because of work.
A mini Valentine's Day card this year.
Birthday card for my boyfriend's birthday.
Sorry for the bad quality photos. It was taken on my old phone. I am now an owner of the iphone.
I was really proud of this card. I made it for my Mom on her birthday. You should've seen me making this card. It was back when I didn't have an actual space to make any cards. I would be grabbing things all over the place and I'd be working on the floor. I was a mess. The final results made up for the torture I endured in making it. You can't tell from the photo, but the candles are actually popping out. My mom was amazed. It made me happy.
Here is a recent card I made for my boyfriend's Mom's birthday. Very simple and quickly done!
Thanks for stopping by,
Love,
Mary
